Argot Chen

2025 artist in residence, 2026 screening team

Argot Chen is a Taiwanese-American new media artist and hybrid writer who explores the idea of “home” through unexpected mediums. Their work has been exhibited internationally, most recently at CtrlZ.AI in Barcelona and University of the Arts London. They have been awarded grants from the Sussman Foundation and the Frank-Ratchye STUDIO for Creative Inquiry, and named a finalist for Eyebeam Rapid Response Grant and the Periplus Fellowship.

Ashley Gilland

2026 Screening Team

Ashley Gilland is a mixed media poet and fiber artist from Kansas City pursuing her MFA at UW Bothell in Seattle. She is currently focused on embroidered handwriting and textile assemblage. Her work is published in So to Speak, Peatsmoke, Thimble, and whiptail, among others. Her interest in audio, composing and producing experimental art pop music, has resulted in two EPs, Robin’s Egg Blue and Clover Days, as well as scores for two short films. She draws inspiration from diaries, stop motion animation, field guides, tidepooling, and recurring dreams. Find her on Instagram at @ashley_gilland.

Emery Joan

Emery Joan is a video artist and writer based in the Pacific Northwest. Her work explores the varying intersections and dissonances between self and communal identity.

Vitoria Ramos

2026 Screening Team

Vitoria Ramos is a queer femme writer and poet from the Pacific Northwest. In her writing, she explores the connection of the self to the natural world, often finding the most intimate of connections between the ocean and celestial spheres. She invokes memory into her work and in true poet form, is a professional at yearning. Vitoria is also a mixed media artist, medievalist and the former host of two podcasts, Fumbling Towards Feminism and Finding History. She is currently earning her MFA in Creative Writing and Poetics at the University of Washington Bothell. Her writing has been published in Clamor, Silly Goose Press, The Hyperbolic Review and the Scottish Zine, Dyke Diaries. Angelica Urquizo

2026 Screening Team

Angelica Urquizo is a poet and collage artist who seeks magic in the mundane. She often finds inspiration from the natural world, mythology, shadow work, and the overall human experience. Playing in the intersections of genre, format, and material, she hopes to further explore her expression in both textual and tactile forms. She is earning her MFA in Creative Writing and Poetics at the University of Washington Bothell and has publications in Silly Goose Press, Genrepunk, and Suburban Witchcraft, among others.
